They schedule a BCS team, and actually beat them. Also, the BCS has been tweaked to allow them in because they started to have some success against the "big boys." Add to that that the "little boys" have won in the BCS games that they have gone to.

Boise has played 4 BCS schools since 2008. To get to the number of BCS opponents that a BCS team faces in a single year, you'd have to go back 5 years, during which Boise is 5-4 against BCS teams.

In "recent" history, their bowl history against BCS opponents has been a win against Iowa State, a loss to Louisville, a loss to Boston College, a win against Oklahoma. Their non-BCS bowl history is 2 wins against TCU, a loss against TCU, and a loss against ECU.

That makes them 2-2 in bowls against BCS opponents, and 2-2 in bowls against non-BCS opponents.

The only reason the Boise and TCU win percentage number is so bad is because they play in the strong conferences of the WAC and the MWC. And since these conferences are so strong from top the bottom all the teams in them just beat up on each other.

Boise

That wasn't just regarding Boise State, it was in regards to all the non-BCS schools that make noise in the BCS talk. Utah was somewhat in the talks up until last week. They have won nine straight bowl games, five of which were against schools from BCS conferences.

I'm not one that thinks they deserve a shot at the national title because they aren't tested in conference, but in my opinion the things that I have pointed out are the things that have changed over in recent history that allows them to be in the talks every year.
