It's perfectly understandable if you don't want your information shared between TAF and the LSU Foundation. That's why TAF is giving you that option.
But it is of great benefit to the three fundraising organizations to share donor information. Pretty much every other university operates under a unified system. LSU is different because we have three different organizations with three different databases, and chances are, if you are an involved alumnus... you exist in all three.
That means there's no way to track how many times you've been contacted/mailed collectively from all three organizations. If you have one database, they would know, and they could coordinate. That's what they're trying to create.
TAF, AA and LSU Foundation don't want to waste their own resources overwriting each other's efforts. Coordination, not duplication is the motive behind the request.

I don['t have a problem with them sharing my info. I think it comes down to do you love LSU or do you just love LSU football.
