It's funny how a great original post is being destroyed.
Miss State and Florida (while they're down) are not big wins. Please stop acting like permanent B teamers.

How is a team with a five star quarterback, two NC's in the last four years, and currently in control of their own destiny in the East not a big win? If your only criteria is a top ten team, then you might have that chance once a year, twice on a strong year.

the bottom line is we never expect to win those big games anymore. you get excited when you know the coaching staff is putting a good game plan in and will give your talented team their best opportunity to win.
let's face it - we expect to get our rear ends kicked when we go against bama and arkansas, and we are terrified of Ole Miss because they can score. Hopes were high before Auburn, but that loss pretty much kicked us in the groin.
from what we have seen this year, and from what Coach miles says he will continue, the offense is just too damn sorry to give us a realistic chance to compete for championships. The defense is good, but the defense and special teams have to be responsible for 21 points against the good teams or we can't win. That's not something that happens every week.
The only way you can get pumped up is if you feel you are the underdog who might come up with an heroic win.

It isn't original and it isn't great. If we would have beaten Bama in 08 would fans be happier today? No, they wouldn't. If we would have beaten Georgia? No, in fact it wouldn't have been a "good" win because they wouldn't have finished in the top 10. Do people realize that if Georgia Tech would have beaten us then they would have finished 9th or 10 that year?
