Les Miles is an EMBARRESSMENT. There is no way I'm going to defend someone that is incompetent and unorganized as his entire program is.
If you want a new coach, if you think our current guy has gotten fat and happy, complacent, fine with that. Embarrassment? He's pulling wins out of his arse without a potent offense. Our valley was 8-5, and the record has been climbing back up since. Richt at Georgia with tons of arrests, and the team at 4-4 is an embarrassment. Hell, Meyer at Florida not acknowledging Tebow is gone and adjusting the offense to fit the (considerable) talent he has is an embarrassment. Miles speaks funny, and he has a couple quarterbacks that have glaring weaknesses, and wins a lot more games with them than anybody has a right to.
8, 9, and however many wins we end up with this year is not necessarily fantastic, but it's not extremely imcompetent.
Try to look at the most recent LSU teams through an objective point of view, like maybe as a Saints fan... we have Peterson, and .. who else? as NFL talent? Nevis is 280. He'll make a team, but likely the rest will be lucky to make a roster. Same goes for the rest of the teams; one or two guys, just like the rest of the good SEC teams. We aren't some superstar-laden club. Yet somehow, we still keep winning a bunch more than we should.
And that really ain't even the point. If you choose to agree with the talking heads on ESPN that Miles is an idiot with no right to any respect for his accomplishments past and present, you're embarrassing yourself by spitting on the guy who dared to speak up and say LSU is as good as it gets.
Saban never said it, not while USC was the talk of the town. Saban never said there was no place better to be at than LSU. Miles did.
I think Miles was right then. He may not be the best fit here anymore, but he's still here as of now, and so while he's our coach, he deserves a from me

T Boone Pickens had it right in '05 when Miles left OK State: "This is the best day in OSU history and will turn out to be one of the worst for LSU."
Yeah, he nailed it... OSU won the crystal in 2007!
In over hundred years plus of football history, Miles has brought in one of the THREE National titles we have and and one of the TWO in the BCS era.
For people bitching about offense, look at Florida!
OU was shite last year! Look at Texas this year!
OSU (bucknuts) can't win a big game!!
Look what Pete did to USC! Their ONLY BCS title was vacated and their program can't even be in a bowl game for the next two years.
Traditional powers like FSU, Miami, Notredame, Michigan can't win jack after they went through coaching changes!!
Winning a title much less being in the title talk is a boon! We are in the middle of it.
Watch what you wish for...that's all.
ETA: Texas, USC

And to clarify- I'm not saying don't be critical of the play-calling, or even question whether we need a new head coach. Sure as hell not saying give Miles a lifetime contract for what he's done.
What I AM saying is- keep in mind WHY Miles gets picked on about every single detail of his clothing, his speech, and anything else not related to football by the press. Why "lucky" and "fortunate" is applied instead of "gritty" or "tenacious" in close games. He opened his mouth and challenged ESPN and the rest of the media, and it was on our (LSU's) behalf.

You mean he is getting lucky with wins that should be games that LSU won going away. C'mon! LSU is winning games in spite of Les on sheer talent and good defense.

LSU has more than enough talent to field a solid offense capable of executing and destroying most of the teams on the schedule. Unfortuanately, the offense is horrible. Why???

All of this is nice, but letting everyone know how you feel isn't going to save you down the road when your coaching ability is called into question. All of those quotes from Les dont mean squat.
