How competitive has the Alabama/LSU game been the last 10 years? EVEN w/ Lord Saban there?

You might want to hold off on that question until after Lord Saban comes to visit in two weeks.

Because if LSU ever wants to be an elite team, beating Bama this year would go a long way towards that. Lord Saban didn't help our cause by getting LSU's arse kicked by Bama 31-0 in 2002.

Hey genius, tell me the story following 2002 because I am pretty sure LSU beat Alabama's arse five years in a row after that. You can call LSU whatever you want, but they beat the crap out of Miami (on and off the football field), Notre Dame, and Georgia Tech in bowl games, beat five top fifteen teams in 2007 (never been done before), won 2 national titles, 3 SEC titles, and had Alabama's number for the better part of the decade. You can figure out what you would like to call that, but I will call it impressive. And to top it off, Texas was taking it to Alabama before Colt was injured. I think if he does not get hurt, Alabama does not have a national title last year.

then he went on to beat their asses 27-3 the very next year en-route to a national championship. not to mention, Saban beat Bama in 2000, 2001, and 2004 while he was at LSU, making him 4-1 against the Tide while at LSU. you truly are a fricking retard.

everything about LSU is elite. Except their coach

the recruits
the talent
the facilities
the conference
the gameday atmopshere

we have 2 national titles in the last 10 years. I dont see how u can not say we arent an elite SEC team. We are an ELITE national program. That alone makes us elite in our own conference

pdxlsufan I agree. We definitely don't have the coach to stay at the level of Bama. We likely will never compete with Saban and most top SEC teams going forward as long as Miles is our coach. We had a short run for about 6 or 7 years that were as good as anybody elses SEC run give or take a couple of other 7 year periods. Since Miles has been here we have witnessed a decline. We did not really have any business hiring him if we planned to stay competitive. 100% agreement. We will be a 2nd tier team as long as Miles is here. With the right coach and a good hire we can have another 6 or 7 year run like we just had. Pxlsu if we do you can knock our history as much as you want as long as we are winning championships in that time I don't care. LSU has never been elite and never will be till we hire an elite coach. Meyer (pre-meltdown) Saban, Spurrier (Florida days) etc. are elite coaches Miles is not.
