I watched the developer diaries leading up to Fable 2, and he didn't promise entire concepts that didn't show up in-game... he did, however, exaggerate the value of certain in-game concepts. Like the multiplayer and and the social interaction. I think he gets so excited about making these games that he's sort of a "homer" when describing what he loves about the product Lionhead is developing.

i traded in a whole bunch of games today and, in turn, pre-ordered fable 3 and bought fallout: new vegas for $7.54...
however, i still have to pay the $54.99 on Tuesday as I only put $5 down on Fable 3.
oh well...still a win and i'm looking forward to it.

I didn't even realize it was coming out this week until about 2 weeks ago. Not sure how I missed it, but maybe that's a good thing, so I didn't get sucked into this and that like Molyneaux is now known for.
It should be interesting. Multiplayer sounds like it will be a hell of a lot better and the "when you win you're only halfway done with the game" concept as well. I'm not sure how I feel about not having xp to level, but instead "number of followers." Guess it depends on how the game handles that.
And of course, the toughest question: Good or evil for first playthrough?
