I would more than likely be equally as terrible as JJ has been thus far

I could probably manage more than 4 yards of offense against McNeese with the playmakers he has around him.

Too bad I don't have any eligibility left.

Yes i do, but that's not the point. At this level of college play, pop warner stats don't work. I would take the Vandy QB over JJ. Find me another QB in 1-A, shite even a AA that has stats close to his.

I'm 5'7" and 175 lbs. and I'm 36 years old. I give JJ a slight edge.

Not JJ haters. We would LOVE to see JJ go out there and throw for 300 and rush for 150. But he won't. He is barely over 50% passing. Jlee is over 70% They have the same number of passing tds.

Their yardage is comparable. And Jlee has played MUCH fewer snaps than JJ has...

Something wrong there.

Also...we don't play QB for LSU. We are thus not expected to do better than him at what he does.

Our complaint is that he doesn't do as well as someone who is actually on the team, at his position.

"Against McNeese absolutely. All I would have to do is take the snap from center and fall forward about 5 times in a row. I'd have 5 yards of offense and then I could sit out the rest of the game and be > JJ that night."

hahahhaha 4 net yards..... how can people defend that guy? 4 yards... against MCNEESE.... but as bad as he was Les will still start him against AU..... fml

Do YOU think you could do better
depends on your way of thinking. If JJ thinks that 3-10 for 30 yards and 2 picks is playing pretty well, then I can only assume that 2-10 for 20 yards and 3 picks is playing better. and I can do that with no problem

How long would it take you to learn the basic principles of the option? Most highschoolers seem to be capable of picking that up

Jordan is that you? No one is hating on JJ just the dumb plays, if anything everyone here would love to see JJ tear it up because he is the starter no matter what

no but lee has done better

fify. And he should have been given more of a chance to win his job back after the injury two years ago IMO. Qestionable play-calling with a freshman QB and a porous defense were JL's downfall. Never saw any reason to question his ability or heart. Never understood those who did, other than to assume they didn't really know a damn thing about football at this level. Lee has passing skills that at least a third of the 75 current NFL QB's do not possess.

The sad part about this argument is that there isn't much wiggle room to play worse than he has.

108th out of 112, 0 td drives the last two weeks, no td passes in 26 consecutive quarters. Leading the SEC in turnovers.

So the 35 yo overweight couch jockey your trying to insult, in theory, couldn't do much more harm to the team than he has. Hard to say that we wouldnt be at least 5-2 with my grandmother playing the snaps hes play instead.

HELL NO.

You are turning an evaluation into an ad hominem critique, as though no one can comment if he has not played at a very high level.
My intelligence gives me the opportunity to evaluate performance using nuance perhaps not available to you.
I believe my point was made in the hit movie about the high school coaches in newly integrated North Carolina, starring Denzel Washington. The white coach's daughter, played by a 10 year old girl, demonstrated understanding of the game.
She could never play, but she did see what was going on.

I see JL as having a MUCH higher upside.

While the play of JJ leaves a lot to be desired, particularly his passing, what bothers me about him most is his demeanor on the sidelines.

I'm gonna breakdown this asinine question from a coaching perspective.

For starters, there probably are some college students in that mix of 94,000-plus who could compete with Jefferson at quarterback. That should answer your question.

But to delve deeper, let's take Jordan Jefferson. Clearly, we saw him bust a biggie on a read, and realize the kid can run, so we know he's got some athletic talent. However, let's ask the question that really matters.

Is he the best QB on the team?

Clearly the last three games have proven that he is NOT. In fact, making Jr. High school mistakes (illegal procedure) because he didn't realize his set was incomplete, probably cost LSU ANOTHER scoring drive led by...oh yeah, that other guy, Jarrett Lee. This after Lee was pulled in the short yardage situation for Jefferson.

The next question to ask yourself. How good could Jarrett Lee be if he actually got 90 percent of the snaps? If you can't tell how much better the offense is when he's under center, you must be watching a different game.

And yet another question: Will Jordan Jefferson play QB at the next level? Absolutely not. I don't care what he does between now and this time next year. He will NOT play QB at the next level. You want to know how I know this? He CANNOT play it well at the collegiate level.

Personally, I think he needs to gain 15-20 pounds and play tight end, because I do think he has some athletic talent. His brain just doesn't speak quarterback.

Les Miles is doing a disservice to EVERYONE involved within this organization by playing musical quarterback. Everyone. Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee, the students, the fans, the program and ANY POTENTIAL STUD QB who might be considering LSU as a collegiate option.

Probably not, but I'm pretty sure I could do as well.

Let's see:

Hand off. Check.
Fail to see blitz coming. Check.
Fumble ball deep in own territory when hit. Check.
Throw interception deep in own territory. Check.
Throw incompletion on 3rd down. Check.
Whine, pout, piss, moan, point fingers when things go wrong. Check, check, check, check and check.

Hey, I'm no better, but I'm apparently no worse, so where's my freakin' scholly?
