When you think about the series of games these 2 teams have played over the years it has got to be up there in the top 5. All the memorable games.

I know it is not the best rivalry, but I think it is the most compelling series. Let's hear what you think.

In 1988, #4 ranked Auburn traveled to Tiger Stadium with one of its best teams in years, and national championship aspirations. The 4-0 AU Tigers entered the game outscoring its opponents 161-44, but were held to just two field goals. However, their outstanding defense kept the 2-2 Bayou Bengals (who had beaten Tennessee and Texas A&M before losing to OSU and Florida)

Damn that's a hell of a way to open up a season.

It's the SEC game of the year in 2010 ... so far ... # 5 Auburn versus # 6 LSU in the battle of the last of the SEC undefeateds ... American CFB fans are watching and praying for an LSU loss in this game so their teams have a run at the BCS crown ... They fear a third LSU run at the crown this decade and our computer ranking at .94 that will shut their teams out of the BCS title game when we run the table

No offense, but I don't think it is even close to being the "greatest series in college football". It always means a lot to us, but I think just on Auburn's schedule that UGA/Auburn and Bama/Auburn are better historically/traditionally and all that.

Not talking rivalry, or tradition. I am talking about competitive series. 2005 score with less than 2 min to win. 2006 ref screws us in a close game. 2007 TD with 1 sec left on clock. 2008 TD with right at a minute left. That's a good run.

This game has meant a TON over the past decade, but that's the extent of it. It has become a great series. If it continues, it could get there. I know you don't mean tradition, etc., but it's hard to separate the two when having a discussion like this.

I understand what you're saying about being the best series without being necessarily the biggest rivalry, and I agree.

here's to another exciting game, and I hope those of you going have a safe and enjoyable trip.
