These are usually set pieces that you work on year around and come down to play design and execution.

That being said, was the two point play we called on were stuffed on when JJ tried to run it in one of the worst two point plays you have ever seen.

Coaches shouldn't even bother with that stupid chart. It kills me when teams go for 2 when it's not necessary.

If LSU kicks the extra point to go up 27-14, after Florida's next TD they obviously kick the xp to make it 27-21. Then after their next TD they kick the xp again for a 1 point lead. At this point LSU can win it with a field goal.

Instead, we went for 2 when it wasn't necessary, allowing Florida to go up by 3 points.

Yes I agree. Would have been better to kick the PAT and keep momentum.

You go for the two and miss it gives the other team an emotional lift.

It was to early to chase points.

Two point play was the correct call in the fourth quarter.

But then they don't fake, which led to the TD. Jasper is forced to kick a 53-yard FG to win it.

Kida like checking the plays on your wrist while under center with 3 seconds on the play clock.

A lot of the responses here about the decision are hindsight. The play itself was a clusterfrick. You should already know the 2 pt play you will run and you should know how to run it well.

14:00 left in the 4th quarter? Nope, nope, nope. That's plenty of time for 3 drives, 1 TD and 2 FG's, to beat you if you don't make it. Or, as we saw, for 2 TD's, 1 with a 2pt conversion to put you down by 3. I will take a 13 point lead over a probable 12 point lead at that point in the game every time.

Take a point every time you can get it, go for 2 when you need it.

The two point call was the wrong call. You go up 13 and make them score two tds to beat you. there was enough time left for florida to get three possessions. I don't like the call. Now later in the fourth quarter I think its the right call, but not with that many possessions left.

It also was the worse possible time to give up the kick off td

Anyone who doesn't think the right call was to go for 2 there, well, I don't pay much attention to them. You put percentages on those kind of things...and percentages say the opposition isn't gonna score 3 times in the 4th quarter.

Play call was terrible.

Either spread the field and run the qb draw if you want to run.

Other than that best play call is probably some type of sprint out run pass qb option.

I'm happy it worked out the way it did, but that's beside the point. With 3 minutes left in the game, would you rather be down by 1 or 3?

If you make it, you can be tied driving down the field needing a field goal to win. The risk is worth the reward

nice to see someone else understands the concept of the 2pt attempt.

I've been banging my head against the wall for years as almost every coach continues to go for 2 in completely unnecessary situations.
