Why can't LSU coaches teach JLee how to NOT throw off back foot?

The guy is progressing, but still has lots of room for improvement. He seems to have improved vision. He seems to make some better decisions, but that lob toss to the middle of the field was fortunately not thrown where a defender could have intercepted it. He made the INT in the end zone, but that was mostly a bad call.
Over all, this is an improved Jarrett Lee, and he would be much further down the road had he received more playing time when the opportunity presented itself in the Vandy and Miss State games. That was why so many of us complained that he did, because it was highly likely that JJ's passing was not going to improve, and we knew Lee needed the growing/playing opportunity.
Still, he made several clutch throws to drive the team down the field when it mattered most.
Now, to the point of the title/post.
The key throw to Toliver was not made with good mechanics, and he was partially repeating the same mistake we have often seen from him throwing with a lean back. His arm and release and accuracy where sufficient to get the ball right where it was needed, so ok for that throw, but that won't work often enough.
Other than decision making and field vision, which will only come with more playing time, throwing off his back foot is a real issue.
Are the coaches so focused on JJ that are not seeing this? Are they dedicating drills and coaching to help him change this bad habit? Will it change as his playing time and confidence improve?

Why couldn't Fla coaches teach Tebow to shorten his delivery?
Sometimes it's the student, not the teacher.

Why can't therocketscientist ever start a decent thread?

Probably because Crowton is an incompetent QB coach.

He has perfected the off-back-foot shotput toss

If you recall, he threw a 30 strike to Randle down the sideline off his back foot, So stop complaining

the last thing they need to do right now is frick with his mechanics. that is what spring pracice is for.

They can't figure out how to manage the clock. Do you think that they can teach throwing mechanics?

Cause they cant teach those pesky defenders not to get to him so fast!

JL mechanics are light years ahead of JJ. It is not even close.
He does, however, sometimes rely on arm strength alone to get the pass off. This will bite him at some point, let's just hope it is not at crucial point in the game. This should have been fixed the first year he was here.
Unfortunately, there is not adequate time to make any adjustments this year that would translate to being a natural part of his game.
The last thing we want is for him to be in the pocket thinking, "ok, don't throw it off your back foot."

Old habits are hard to break.

Would it not be JL's responsibility to work on these flaws?...other than that, I agree...YOU CAN LEAD A HORSE TO WATER, BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE HIM DRINK IT....
