Heard good things about PC. Don't have either brand though.

Thanks for the information, I might have to save up a little more money and get a dewalt. I am not a handy man or anything and it would just be a starter set.

I have a Hitachi cordless drill, impact wrench, and light all lithium ion and they are legit. I also bought a Hitachi circular saw and jig saw not cordless. These tools are legit and rated very good with consumers reports. A friend that works at lowes recommended them over Dewalt b/c Dewalt was bought by Black and Decker and isn't the same anymore. He also told me from what is sold at Lowes Hitachi>Dewalt>Porter Cable.

I own a corded Ryobi and a small 12V drill for light duty jobs. Haven't had any problems. I was told that Ryobi is manufactured by the same company that makes Ridgid and Craftsmen. Porter Cable is made by Delta. They are both comparable in quality and price. Check the cost of replacement batteries prior to purchasing. Depending on usage you may want to upgrade to Dewalt or Ridgid.
