But running a mile will increase calorie burning while at rest after also. Another thing to take into consideration is when you are dieting is that as you lose weight, the calories needed to lose weight will be lower. So you might start out with 2000 calories and lose weight but will need lower calories to lose the same weight. You might have to drop it to 1,750 or 1,500 calories to lose the same weight.

Your body having to warm the water while keeping your core temp the same also increase your metabolism.

Once again, I never said it was a magic bullet. I just said you could aid your diet in a very simply way drinking cold water.

And I didn't mean to suggest that 8 glasses of water was better than jogging a mile.
