The negativity towards the offense would not be as bad in Baton Rouge if we didnt all realize how special this team could be?

With the defense and special teams unit being on a championship level, we feel super frustrated that the offense cant even be on a WAC level!

I know I feel so disappointed because I know with the current overall play we have put on the field to get up to 4-0, will most likely not get us to the ball park of 11-1 which is where we need to be to contend for championships in this side of the conference! I feel with alittle help from the offense, this team could easily achieve that record and that is why I am super pissed that the offense isnt getting it done.

I just have a gut feeling alot of Tiger fans feel the way I do and is why so many of us are probably reacting so irately to the offense even though the rest of the team is paying great.

That is the absolute frustrating thing. We have a CHAMPIONSHIP team. We didn't think we did this year but we really REALLY do with this defense and ST and yet we have the worst offense possible. And even worse is that it was awful last year and THIS YEAR ITS MANAGING TO BE EVEN WORSE.

What a absolute JOKE. I just don't get it at all. I really don't.

Of course not.
This is what the rantards on this board can't comprehend. If you have a 12-0 team and you finish 10-2, there's reason to be upset.
If you have a 10-2 team and you go 8-4, you have reason to be upset.
We have a team this year that could beat anyone on the schedule. Yet we have a coaching staff that has no clue on offense and it will cost us, just as it has the last two seasons.
I'd say if you're NOT upset, you should go take up knitting.

This is 100% right for me. I am a postiger through and through, but I don't want Les to piss away what could be such a special team and special season. I'm sorry, but with this defense and special teams, 9-3--even 10-2--is not good enough. Being better than last year is not good enough. Not winning the SEC is not good enough. Not winning the West is not good enough.

Yes, you are correct. The putrid offense will turn a national title contender into a 4 loss team, perhaps worse.

If our offense was on the WAC level, I am booking my trip to Phoenix.

Mostly true.

So much potential yet so much underachieving.

right on. if the rest of the team was mediocre i wouldn't be as concerned. we got a chance to do great things if our O can step it up.

True

And, its not just that for me. We have a lot of talent on offense, so the offense should be better. We have elite, NFL-type talent at WR, but in the first few games we did not get the QB in a rhythm with them. Instead we had him running indecisively on option plays apparently to open up the middle of the defense for Ridley, which maybe has been somewhat successful. But throwing the ball can do the same thing. I think the whole situation has messed with Jefferson's head. We might just need a fresh start with Lee at this point, or a new OC.

I agree that the offense is painful... but you do realize that people are calling to fire the same coach that has everything else at the "championship level" that you are so stoked about, right???

We do NOT have a championship team, even with perfect QB play. We started out way too low in the polls, which would mean we would have to be perfect (which even the '03 and '07 teams couldn't pull off) just to get to the position Auburn was in in 2004.

Yet another reason we need a playoff. We DO have a team that could make a 16-team playoff and then have a shot at running the table. But there's no way we could get into the Top-2, considering what TCU, Boise, Oregon and Ohio State have left on their schedules.

Agreed. In addition, if people would spend the time to scrutinize the feedback they would see exactly that. People jump on here or read one article, listen to one radio show and jump to the conclusion that the fans hate LSU, or the team or the QB.

Does every post have to start with .. " I love LSU and I support our team but the following makes me concerned.... " ?

The very fact that fans spend their emotional capital expressing their concerns over QB play, playcalling, etc shows the passion and the level of commitment they have to the program.

It's when you open a new thread on TD and you don't get a response for an hour, a day or a week that you need to be concerned about the fanbase turning away from the program.

Now, everyone together...
