Open Letter to Jordan Jefferson

Believe it or not, the LSU fanbase wants you to succeed. When any QB struggles, fans always call for the backup. This is normal and not personal.
I want you to rewatch your performance in the 2008 Chick-Fil-A Bowl. I don't want you to be concerned about the team you played or the result. I want you to look at your style. Your running was sharp. Your passes were crisp. You played relaxed. This team believed in you and the fanbase saw a future.
We know you have the skills. You know you have the skills. Obviously Coach Miles believes you have the skills. Play your game.
Don't worry about dropped passes. Lift your receivers up. Play your game.
Don't let cracks in the O-line get to you. Lift those guys up. Play your game.
This is a perfect week to open it up and find your groove. The Vols just gave up over 400 yards passing to Alabama-Birmingham. We don't need 400 yards passing. We don't need 300 yards passing. We probably don't need 200 yards passing.
What we do need is the Jordan Jefferson we know is out there. You can throw this team on your shoulders, but you have to loosen up and play relaxed. The results will come. Stay positive. Have fun. Play your game.

Not all of them. Some don't even want LSU to succeed because of their hatred for Miles.

I'll start:
Dear Rant,
Enough with the Open Letters. It's just another post on a message board. Don't flatter yourself.

Sad, but true...
Good post though.

P.S. Don't hold the ball without scrambling for 6 full seconds and take a sack. No matter what any coach or whomever might tell ... that is really, really bad. Now geaux get'em, Tiger.
Hit for 250 and 3 TDs vs. Florida...and all will be forgotten.

We haven't needed 100 yards for the past few weeks. But it would be nice to know we are capable of it.

understand the positve reinforcement, but have you watched JJ play this year? he does not have the skill to be a college QB in the SEC

He does though. Watch some older game clips (end of '08 and some last year). It seems like he's been coached into complete and utter paranoia about doing the wrong thing. This was not his m.o. early on.

Nice letter.
I think Jefferson's biggest problem has been Jefferson's confidence. His o-line could help more in pass blocking. His receivers could help more in catching the ball. His OC could help more in play calling.
But Jefferson needs to have more confidence in his throwing skills and his running skills.

Dear JJ,
You don't have to be good...just don't be bad.

... but maybe that's the problem! Kids like JJ are used to being the stud of the team. That's what they've always been their entire football life.
"Be the ball, Danny!"

I like the open letters today. Perhaps they should start an open letter board so the people that like them can find them easily and the folks who don't care for them don't have to bother with them. Just a thought.
