It's his internal clock in the pocket, pocket presence, inaccurate on the move. Add all that up and he doesn't have it! He can't pass from the pocket so they roll him out but then becomes inaccurate. Lose lose situation

Still, I think he's better rolling out. I would have him do that more often.

In the pocket, there are several problems, but they seem to be related to timing and presence. The best example of the timing problem is this: when he makes a decision to throw, even if it ends up being an on-target throw, very often (not always) it's thrown late. He needs to find his man and make a decision to throw.

I think he's been coached on this, though, but instead of fixing the problem, it has had some unfortunate side effects. For example, in a few instances, he's seemed a little rushed in choosing to throw an underneath route, instead of waiting for a longer route to develop.

I think he would benefit by sitting out a few series in-game. Help him calm down. Help him see the field. Many teams have done this sort of thing in the past. Hodson, who was an all-time great LSU QB did this with Mickey Guidry his first two years, I believe. And my recollection is that he believed it was helpful. Don't know why Les doesn't do it with JJ. I think JJ has the talent to be successful. I hope they can get him straight.
