VA Tech in '07. That was the last truly complete and dominating performance by an LSU team in a regular season game. I am pumped to get back to Death Valley!
Here's why going to an LSU football game matters so much to me:
I dreamed of going to LSU football games when I was a kid, but my family never was connected enough to be able to get tickets. We didn't know people or have money, so we watched our beloved Tigers on TV.
When I was college age, I dated a girl who went to LSU. She got tickets in the Student section for an LSU vs Miss St. game, and I was hooked on Tiger Stadium. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! The energy and excitement... The noise... The drunk guy behind us who pee'd in the stands... It was ridiculous, but I learned then and there that there was no place in the world like Tiger Stadium.
I later married that girl, and even though we moved to Texas, we still made the trek to Baton Rouge every year for a game. We were there when LSU knocked off #1 Florida in '97... We were there when we beat Tennessee in OT in '01. we watched the magic come back when we finally beat Bama at home in '04. Over time, Saturday night in Tiger Stadium became woven in to the fabric of our existence. Life just wasn't the same if we couldn't make it to a game at least once a year.
Well, we have 5 kids now, and it's tough to make it back home for even one game a year. Money is tight, and we don't have the freedom we once had to take a weekend off. But this weekend I'll take my two oldest sons to their first game in Tiger Stadium. I can't wait to see their eyes light up like mine did 12 years ago when I got to experience an LSU game for the first time.
LSU football... It's not just a game... It's a way of life.
Geaux Tigers!!

If we blow out WVU like Va Tech you can have my wife's ticket for the rest of the year.
No, but seriously.

I'm going to say Auburn last year. People always overlook that manhandling.

True. We did look really good against Auburn last year. But that VA Tech game was unreal.

yes, that game was over in the 2nd qtr.
Miles' teams since then have lacked leadership and disciplin.
Unfortunately, Miles won't have the opportunity to coach another great team like that unless he take the Alabama job when Saban leaves.
