I watched the game over last night, and one thing that was clear is Alfred Blue is TERRIBLE at picking up the blitzing LB. He does not even make an attempt to pick up the free LB. You'd think that he would at least chip block him, but instead he just runs to the flat as a relief throw for JJ. Given that JJ isn't thinking so fast to use the relief valve, Bleu would do better to stay and provide pass protection.

As many have already stated, JJ had a much better game as far as his accuracy goes. He shows NO improvement of looking over the field for open receivers with one exception where he did move his head, found a second reeceiver and made a nice play. WTF is wrong with our QB coaching that they cannot teach this talented boy how to relax and look over the field?

Word is Ford just wants to carry the ball and not do the little things like picking up blitzes

They both better learn how to do that if they want to play and help the Tigers win.

Since one is a RS freshman and the other is a true freshman, let's all take a deep breath and relax a little bit. Blue may not understand all the nuances of the game yet, but he plays hard and seems to be a team player which is probably why Miles likes him.

If I'm a opposing coach, and Bleu is the back, I'm blitzing a LB every time.

Pretty much

I think this could be a break out game for ford though. Fumbling is not what the staff wants to see a RB doing.

Good for you. And if I'm LM and GC and see you blitzing every time, I call a screen or check down on the same side of the field and let my playmakers make a play on your secondary since your LB will be pre-occupied with the blitz. Maybe they stop Shepard or Ware, maybe they don't. Of course, as the opposing coach, you know if your CB doesn't make the play on Shepard, he gone, he gone.

like i'm sure they haven't tried. you can GUESS at whatever you think is the reason YOU THINK he doesn't look over the field but it is just a guess. teaching a QB to relax when about 6 250#ers (or more) are trying kill him is an interesting challenge. got any constructive ideas?

IMPOSSIBLE!
Les wouldn't play him if he couldn't pass block. See Michael Ford.

Most of the words around the rant are in reality myths based on speculation and educated guesses that later become etched in stone as cold hard facts.

It is like test anxiety. Some have it some do not. When it is time to "perform on demand" under real circumstances, things change significantly.

Who knows what the coaches are trying.
