Ok so a guy just offered me Shonn Greene for Jahvid Best in a PPR league. I wanted to instantly accept it but I just need to hear someone else tell me this is a no brainer...

Don't give up Best. That would be the dumbest move ever. He's projected to catch like 40 passes and Greene won't even catch 10. Don't do it.

Yea well he had 20 yards on 14 carries last week...and he plays for the Lions who could be without Stafford for awhile. This is my RB situation:

Rashard Mendenhall
Lesean McCoy
Brandon Jackson
Jahvid Best
Jerome Harrison

If we're going on a one game analysis (which is stupid to do) then Green only had 5 carries for 18 yards and only 1 reception. Best had 5 receptions and you left off the part were 2 of those 14 carries were freaking TDs.

You said it's a PPR league. Best will get his receptions. Greene will definitely not get his.

DON'T GIVE UP BEST FOR GREENE.

ETA:

Rashard Mendenhall - starter
Lesean McCoy - starter
Brandon Jackson - starter
Jahvid Best - starter
Jerome Harrison - bench

In a PPR league you have some damn good starting RB 1 & 2s. Why give up Best for a guy who will not be in the game on third downs, won't catch shite, and is in a RB committee?

you also get points for rushing stats...
Greene WILL be a 1,000 rusher.
Best, i seriously doubt it. 700 yards tops.

if Best has 40 catches to Greene's 10, you're selling a better, more experienced, better running game running back for 30 reception points.
congratulations.

The reason he is trying to get rid of Greene is because Tomlinson has scared the hell out of Greene owners.

Well I really don't think Tomlinson can take the pounding of an entire season at his age.

But also, Best never had more than 200 carries in any of his 3 years at Cal.

what to do?

With Stafford hurt the Lions are going to be running it a lot more.

Pretty even trade. I'd probably take Green. Even thought he was the worst player on the field Monday night.

In this exact scenario you've created it's a wash because 300 more yards is exactly 30 more points. But you're forgetting the reception yards and TDs. Plus Best is projected on most site to have more TDs than Greene. And they are both projected around 900-1000 yards.

Do what you want, but I wouldn't make this trade. And it's a no brainer for me.

Also keep in mind that the Jets probably will be scoring in the range of 10-13 pts/game. As long as Sanchez keeps playing the way he is, they won't put up a lot of pts. Best will have a lot more catches and TD's than Greene.

Should I counter with Best and Matt Ryan for Greene and Schaub?

ETA: QB's get 6 ppTD

I think Schaub will have around 700-800 more yards and maybe 6-7 more TDs.

That's maybe around 45 more points up grade in QB.

I truly believe, barring no injuries of course, Best is a Top 10 RB in a PPR league and Greene isn't in the Top 25. Probably a 100 pt difference in a PPR league.

So that's an estimated 55pt loss if you counter with that trade and he takes it.

Again, my opinion for a PPR league.

Are you using yahoo for your league?

Well, using Yahoo to evaluate a PPR league with the RBs, here is the print out...

Greene is predicted to have...
961 rushing yards & 5 TDs, 9 receptions for 65 yards and 0.3 TDs. For a grand total of 143 fantasy points.

Best is predicted to have...
948 rushing yards & 10 TDs, 44 receptions for 354 yards & 2 TDs. For a grand total of 245 fantasy points.

If you want to give up that potential production then go for it. But I wouldn't make the trade until you at least have 4 more weeks to evaluate.

This guy speaks the truth. Greene may = bust this year. He looks like he may be the Steve Slaton of last year with the way the Jets offense and L.T. has looked...

why do people say this?

It's like buying stock and predicting future value. "Don't buy at $10/share, wait to see if it jumps to $60/share, then try to buy it for $10/a share"

Does that make sense to you....why do you think that FFB would be any different?

Who I had traded for last year before the season even started.

Don't want others to make the same mistake.

Completely different. The point is to say no to the trade and watch Best produce. He already as him and if he flourishes he'll be happy he didn't trade. IF he then want to still trade then he can get more that Greene for him.

His best scenario is to hold him.

Oh, and "Don't buy at $10/share, wait to see if it jumps to $60/share, then try to buy it for $10/a share" >>> Option Trading, brah.
