A new era for Saints fans

For years we have always started the season wondering "what if" and "when". Isn't it nice to start the season as the reigning Super Bowl champion? I have always started every season with cautious optimism but now that they have the Lombardi, everything else is lagniappe. This decade has been wonderful being able to enjoy a Saints SB victory and two LSU NC with my sons.

Yes, it's finally hitting me that tonight the Saints start their first season.....as defending Super Bowl Champs.

Just hearing the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints will never get old, tho.

Agreed. I'm not really sure how to approach this season. Every year of my life, I've had mixed emotions ranging from cautious optimism to complete and utter despair. I'm not really sure how to go into this season. I know how I feel about the team and the chances for a repeat...but I don't want to come across as cocky at the same time.

Kinda feels good knowing that until tonight I have not seen the Saints do the following
1. Defend a World Title
2. Lose the Super Bowl
Other than that I feel as though I have seen it all.

I just heard them say defending world champion New Orleans Saints, and it gave me the goosebumps.

Van Pelt said they are the reigning champs, not the defending. He said if they were defending it could be taken away. Either way, I am proud to be a Saints fan.
