One thing that shows up live that doesn't show up on TV is, like last year, our safety many times lines up 25 yards off of the LOS. I think that is why the TE routes over the middle went for yards. When we get our back against the goal line and we crowd in more, we play better.

That's a really good point, and by far the biggest thing we need to work on. We have to move our players around to take away the short slants. I'd much rather force them to beat us deep with our corners and the pressure we'll put on the QB than let them nickel and dime us to death.

And just to be fair, let me add, just like the 2nd half wasn't nearly as bad on first viewing, the 1st half wasn't as impressive.

We had big plays, which were great, but because of those plays, we didn't get to see the O sustain drives as much as I'd like. Because we can't always count on those big plays once we get to the SEC schedule.

Still, the signs that things had changed and the problems were addressed this offseason WERE there.

BTW, for all you idiots throwing our yardage total out there to show that our O hasn't improved, YOU CAN'T PUT UP HUGE NUMBERS ON O WHEN YOU HAVE OVER 300 RETURN YARDS YOU F'ING MORONS. Just think about it, maybe you'll understand.

If you still go 3 and out or produce a turnover after a long return, it still doesn't matter. You can't expect your special teams to mask a horrid offense forever. Patrick Peterson will not get the same return opportunities for the rest of the season.

I did notice the safeties lining up to far back. Especially on the 4th down conversion.

This worried me a lot, esp bc I remember the same thing in the opener against Washinton last year. Big pass plays but few impressive drives.
