I know it sounds crazy, but that actually draws deer. Had this happen to me once, got pissed, and was leaving as I saw this big buck crossing into the active cutting section on my way out. I was upset about it until some of the oldtimers said that the saws draw deer, they get fresh vines and leaves/acorns to their level. Went back and hunted the edges and killed a nice 7 and 8. I could see the cutting going on from my stand, and the sign going into the cut areas was significant.

It also allows for new forest floor growth of grasses and smaller succulants which have bee shaded out up to that point.

if they leave some tree tops behind it will make a good bedding ground in the future too.
