got to look out for number one

well, i don't have my masters or anything like that, but, the way i figure it is,,, if your foot is only inches away from a snake and you feel that you are in danger, i wouldn't pull out a short barrel pistol and shoot it with pellets or ratshot down that close to my foot, but, that's just my opinion..
i really dont know where you are going with this one in reply to me, but ok.

I don't hunt public land BTW, either, I just prefer to sneak in to my spot and sneak out when I'm bow hunting, not play Wyatt Earp, but again, that's just my opinion.
thats cool bro, but sometimes it just feels good to shoot some guns after being awake all morning. And i feel the main purpose people would carry a snake gun because it was the one firearm you could carry while bow hunting prior to the new CC laws now. it would be nice to at least have some kind of gun if you are out and a panther, bobcat comes at you. you have some noise and some lead to throw at them.

Or a space alien falls out of the sky and tries to anal probe you. About as much of a chance of that happening in La, or mississippi, or Texas, or Arkansas.........

Maybe you have some badass bobcats where you hunt. I've never known anyone to be attacked by one around here. And we have a BUNCH of those little bastards.
