well, i don't have my masters or anything like that, but, the way i figure it is,,, if your foot is only inches away from a snake and you feel that you are in danger, i wouldn't pull out a short barrel pistol and shoot it with pellets or ratshot down that close to my foot, but, that's just my opinion..

I don't hunt public land BTW, either, I just prefer to sneak in to my spot and sneak out when I'm bow hunting, not play Wyatt Earp, but again, that's just my opinion.

This is the thing. I too hate snakes, but in 30 years of hunting I have never been in a situation where I HAD to kill a snake. I've killed a few, and took great pleasure in it, but it was for selfish purposes. I would never screw up a hunt to shoot one. I do carry a .38 snubby while scouting sometimes, but never while hunting. It's just not necessary. When I do carry it, it's loaded with shot shells and I feel it's a good fit for that role.

I feel that the judge is just a silly idea that has been done and failed many times before. Taurus has pulled off one he'll of a marketing campaign and sold a lot of people on a really stupid idea.

thats cool bro, but sometimes it just feels good to shoot some guns after being awake all morning. And i feel the main purpose people would carry a snake gun because it was the one firearm you could carry while bow hunting prior to the new CC laws now. it would be nice to at least have some kind of gun if you are out and a panther, bobcat comes at you. you have some noise and some lead to throw at them.
