Yeah I've always been a resident. Just using it as an example.

My point is that people leave the state for economic opportunity. That's really what it comes down to, nothing else in most cases. So if you leave the state for some benefit elsewhere, I don't see why it's LSU's responsibility to give your child instate tuition because you lived here for a time and came to school here.

LSU isn't going to spike in the rankings because of a handful of "legacy" students. They'll spike in the rankings if we can fund higher education better, increase our endowment, and give full control of tuition and financing to LSU.

Fund the school, the ranking will follow, and this conversation will be moot.

again, no one thinks it's LSU's responsibility. LSU created the program as an incentive...someone obviously thought it would benefit LSU. If it's not then it should be canceled, I have no problem with that.
