So that their hurry-up, no-huddle offense isn't disrupted. LINK

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly doesn't want anybody or anything slowing down the Fighting Irish or his spread formation -- one that worked so well in his previous stop at Cincinnati -- and that includes NBC, the network that's had a contract with Notre Dame since 1991.
Kelly said he and athletic director Jack Swarbrick have had conversations with NBC officials about how coverage plans will work with the Irish's up-tempo style, which is basically hurry-up, no-huddle.

So, just stay on the sideline until the ref signals the ball ready for play after commercials.

One of the benefits of having your own network:
Leveraging your influence to give you a competitive advantage.

games on NBC last entirely too long---- making the NBC broadcast more like the ones on CBS, ABC/ESPN is a good thing---

I hate being at the game, and then the ref with the red flag comes out. Talk about a momentum killer.

"NBC tells Notre Dame that fewer commercials means less money."
Nothing changes.

Who the frick is Notre Dame to be making any demands? When their shitty football team becomes relevant, that's when they should be making claims. They lucky NBC doesn't cancel their sorry asses.
