I'm sure if the Gumps are using them we are too! I would have to be pretty damn hot before I jumped off in a tub full of ice but if it makes a players body recover better for practice the next day and not have as many heat strokes out there then more power to them. On a serious note though, a lot of kids and even NFL players have died over the last 5 years from practicing in the heat so I guess they are trying to stop so many players from having heat strokes, injuries and deaths.

earthquake, If you aren't being sarcastic then you must be the most naive person I have seen on here. Ice baths are nothing new to training, MMA fighters have been doing it for years and although I haven't personally seen it I would think these programs have figured it out by now. Bama doesn't have the corner on the ice bath market.

It's to reduce inflammation in the muscles. It sucks when you're in there, but you feel like you never practiced the next day.
