Does anyone think Les should try to sway him to come to LSU? Not looking to get crucified, but he seems to be a smart QB and good game manager. I think we really need to find someone like this.

We need to talk to either Cody Kessler or Max Wittek.
Les needs to tell them he can guarantee them a starting job instead of having to battle each other.

Sway him?? He wouldn't have to sway him. He's been to LSU several times, and doesn't have what it takes. LSU isn't going to try to sway him, because they don't want him.

Ville Platte High has one, Cody Jones, who camped with Saban and is supposed to be offered by Bama, I read.

In your opinion what does it take? Im curious because LSU sure doesn't seem to have it now.

Major Applewhite didn't have what we wanted either. He did OK at Texas.

I would think he would choose LSU in a heartbeat if he is like everyone else I know from VP, they live for LSU and booze

That has to be the ignorant thing I have ever heard... Competition makes people better. You can't just promise an unproven freshmen a starting job in the SEC.

I'm not the coach...not my job to know that. I'm just telling you, you worded it like LSU would have to sell LSU to him. Wrong. LSU doesn't want him...because THEY think he doesn't have what it takes. Just don't understand your wording, like LSU would have to try hard to get him.

quote:OK...maybe I can reword. The OP used the word sway as though LSU would have to really spread it on thick to get him. That isn't the case. He WANTS to go to LSU, but LSU...to this point...isn't interested.

Your the idiot if you dont think one of those guys wouldn't come in and start in 2012.
In case you didnt know, which you probably dont, they are both committed to USC. They are both in the top 5 QBs in the country. And they are in the same class.
One of them will most likely play and the other most likely wont.

Oh, I know he is committed to Northwestern. That's why i worded it that way. Wondering if Les should reconsider? But he may have an ace in the hole.

I didn't start the thread.

I happen to agree with the premise. But I don't think you guarantee them anything other than an opportunity.
Posted on 8/17/10 at 7:15 pm to Simplemaaan
Honestly, it wouldn't hurt to offer him. That way we could have 2 three stars and a walkon battle it out for starter.

quote:Gotcha. Just didn't know if you realized how many times the kid's been to LSU, and LSU hasn't been impressed enough to offer.

You are naive if you think Les would call him up and say "Well Cody (or Max), the best I can do is offer you an opportunity to come to LSU and fight over the starting job."
In reality, he will say "Cody (or Max), look at the QBs on our roster. If you play your cards right, you will be starting for LSU in 2012.
Its called RECRUITING.
