How would Tommy John surgery effect a football player. Say, maybe, a quarterback?

Not entirely sure, because baseball position players have had the surgery, and come back alot sooner than pitchers. But, I would imagine a QB would take about the same amount of time as a pitcher considering their throwing mechanics follow somewhat of the same concept.

Good question, though. Adam, care to chime in?

A quarterback still uses the arm to a great extent, not the same muscles however.

arms often come back stronger after the surgery. So, our QB's would now be able to overthrow our WR's by 20 yards whereas they struggled to overthrow them by 10 yards before the surgery.
