Lower Gueydan/Lake Arthur areas in or close to the marshes
This is true. These areas have some of the best rice field hunting anywhere! Even though Marsh hunting is awesome, its nice and easy to just drive your 4-wheeler right up to the blind, drop everything off, park it 100 yards down the levee, and start busting some tail!!

Venice is not nearly as good as it once was about 10-15 years ago but still descent. Grew up hunting those marshes and have killed many ducks, deer, geese, hogs, gators, etc.

Grew up hunting along MS river in Madison Tensas and Concordia, gradually migrated through ag areas of Tensas, over to South of Monroe along 15, Bosco....into Cenla in Catahoula and Louisiana Delta, and am now a permanent hunter of the Marsh/rice fields right below Lake Arthur west of Klondike, where my wifes family has acreage.
It is all a kick in the arse.
Everywhere I have been has the capability of producing on a given day, some better than others. But we are truly blessed to be duck hunters in LA.

quote:No. Owned by 4 people. They sell a few memberships a year to help cover expenses. Not cheap to flood 4 thousand acres every fall.
Is it public?

They got any plans of not flooding it for a couple year? Looks like the trees are dying to me..

McGowen has some pretty good deer hunting too...I think Mer Rouge might not be as good as the Bosco reason but both are better than the Geuydon region

I beat their arse up in Grand Chenier. The teal get really out of control at times.

And Turkey. If you go opening day, and don't get a long beard, it would be hard to explain.
