that what i was thinking i'm sure labor and removal is part of the quote but 2000 per unit is still high considering its based off one unit.

This isn't your standard window install project. The window installer has to build 5 stories of scaffolding and install the new windows from the outside because he can't/won't send his guys into the dorm rooms. LSU is paying a big premium for that. The window itself is very expensive. They are bigger than most probably think and they'll be double pane, insulating glass with argon, etc. The windows need a special frame to be installed from the outside. The window design is custom to match the layout and mullions of the existing windows. All of that adds up to more than $2000/window.

They are doing a 12 window mockup before this season, so they are well aware of the actual costs and the $2,000/window is likely based on those bids.
