A contribution of $2,000 will allow TAF to replace a window in Tiger Stadium, which will help preserve and secure the stadium’s future. Those donors who fund the replacement of a window will be permanently recognized around Tiger Stadium for their support.

Seems pretty expensive to me. Does anyone know someone who can give a better quote? Wow!

if the windows have compound bends they are more expensive, but 2000 for each unit is high.

I thought they were doing this without any additional funds from us? Guess not, Alleva is great at turning everything into a TAF fundraiser i'll give him that.

Asbestos, Lead Paint...............

80 - 100 feet in the air.

(I wonder if they can do it from inside the rooms?)

It would appear that the true value for the money is permanent recognition in the stadium. As a former resident of North Stadium (1977), you could replace most of the windows on a hallway for $2k.

According to this LINK the price is actually $4000 per window as a TAF Supporter is providing matching funds for all money contributed to the window replacement fund.

I'm guessing that maybe there must be hidden costs in this project that have yet to be discussed in this thread?

I had an office in tiger stadium for several years. The office right next to mine was boarded up with caution tape and asbestos signs on it.

That is the problem with the windows. My office had a window ac unit but it was jerry rigged so it wouldnt fall through as the window frame was unattached from the cinder block wall.

I am all for changing out the windows, because they really are an embarrassment to LSU- however, will anything be done with all these dorm rooms with the nice new, energy-efficient windows??? A poster a few months back suggested removing all asbestos and making some nice suites out of the rooms- sounds costly though....

So we replace the windows and remove the asbestos.....Whats left inside the stadium? Vacant space? Are all the dorm rooms and bathromms areas being ripped out? Not sure what the plan is here?

A million here, a million there, and pretty soon it adds up to real money.

If Saban were still here this would probably only cost us about $1,000 per window

This has to be a turn-key price for the entire project divided by the number of windows + a little L$U pocked lining money...

For a job like this there is a lot of overhead and T&M on one window can be high, especially with elevated work, I will give them that, but once again---its all about money.
