Football Talk Only . . . NegaTard Call-Out Thread . . .

Posted on 8/5/10 at 1:16 am
Based on my earlier thread when I stated that "those who yell the loudest, bitch, and complain the most have a tendency to know the least and can not discuss things rationally or back up the things they say." I am calling out the biggest, loudest, negative nancy's (you know who you are, but I can name a few posters if you want) on this board to actually talk football.
This faction of "fans" will never be happy until Miles is fired. How can a "fan" want LSU to have a bad enough season to fire the coach, lose out on the best class of recruits in Louisiana history, and resulting in sending the program back to the 90's for the sake of beating their chest on the internet saying I told you so? I do not understand this mentality.
I am no Miles apologist. I have not agreed with many of the things that have gone on the last 2 years, but I believe that these things can be corrected. As the head coach, all the problems fall back to him.
OK, down to business. I want to read well thought out reasons why LSU will be better or worse (the NegaTard wish) in 2010. What went wrong in 2009? I do not want to read your typical responses (because, Miles sucks, this coach sucks, that coach is an idiot, etc.).
2009 SEASON ISSUES:
1) Offensive Philosophy - After the 2008 season, Miles gave Crowton the keys to the offense. The offense that we saw in 2009 is the exact same style of offense that Crowton ran in his last year at Oregon. The offense that we saw in parts of '06, '07, parts of '08, and especially the '08 Peach Bowl against Georgia Tech was very similar to the style of offense that Miles ran at OSU (strong running game, play-action passes, taking shots down field). Crowton installed his helter skelter, mass chaos, version of the spread offense. The "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" offense. The play calling was all over the map. If a play worked, we would not see it again for several games. Mass chaos ensued. Miles should have never allowed this to happen. "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it".
2) O-Line Blocking Schemes - It is a FACT that Crowton changed the OL blocking schemes for the 2008 season to fit it to his version of the spread offense. Interviews with players prior to the '09 season state that the blocking schemes had changed and they were having some trouble with it. This zone blocking scheme was a complete change in philosophy from what the OL was doing from '05-'08. The word going around was that the players and Stud were not happy with the change. It was obvious to me while watching the games that the players were having trouble with the scheme. I also think that Stud was having trouble teaching it. All teams run some zone blocking, but these OL players were used to lining up and whipping the man in front of them, not playing a patty cake zone blocking style. Once again, Miles should have never allowed this to happen. "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it".
3) O-Line Personnel - Stud playing his pets (Hitt and a hurt Black) instead of playing the best players. It was obvious that Black was playing hurt. He needed to be substituted for more often. Hitt should have been replaced after the first game. He was just bad. When the back-ups were inserted in the game, the OL magically became better. The OL lineup should have been Josh D. at LT, Blackwell at LG, T-Bob/Lonergan at C, Hurst at RG, Barksdale at RT.
4) QB Coaching - It was obvious that Jefferson was playing scared. He did not want to make a mistake. This was a complete change from the kid we saw in the '08 Peach Bowl. IMO, the change in offensive philosophy really hurt. It seemed as if Jefferson was regressing game-to-game. The coaching from Crowton was no where to be found (ie: the constant 7-10 yard drops).
5) WR Coaching - The "lame duck" coaching situation at the WR position did not help. There was basically no WR coaching at all.
2010 SEASON: WHY I THINK IT WILL BE BETTER
1) Change in Offensive Philosophy - It was obvious watching the spring game that the offensive philosophy was moving back to more of the style that was run in '07 and the '08 Peach Bowl. This change back is going to help Jefferson. Gonzales is inserting some of the Florida style spread in the offense. Crowton should have been let go, but keeping him from out thinking himself will be the key. I really think that Gonzales is going to have more of a say in the offense than we think and will be calling the plays by mid-season. Gonzales in the booth is going to help.
2) Change in O-Line Blocking Schemes - The move back to the blocking schemes that were used from '05-'08 is going to be the biggest change/improvement for the offense. In the spring, Hurst stated in an interview that OL players were excited about the change back to more of a physical, dominate your man style of blocking schemes. You could see it during the spring game. IMO, the addition of Ben Wilkerson is a huge, huge deal. The word coming from the spring practices was that Big Ben was heavily involved with the teaching of techniques and installing a physical, dominating, nasty attitude back into the OL. Stud should have been let go, but I would not mind Big Ben getting some experience for a year and taking over as OL coach next year.
3) Change in O-Line Personnel - With Stud's "teachers pets" gone, he has no choice but to play the best players. The added size and nastiness of the new OL players is going to help. A lot of playing OL is attitude. These guys have it.
4) QB Coaching - Having Crowton on the sideline is going to help Jefferson. Last year, you never saw Jefferson come to the sideline and get on the phone. Hopefully with Crowton on the sideline, they will talk.
5) WR Coaching - Actually having a WR coach is going to help!
I see LSU going 9-4 or 10-3. I believe that we will see improvement. If we do not see improvement and the record is 8-5 or less, then it is time to make a change.

I'm right there with you hoss. Just don't be surprised if rational thought is not welcomed here. But you knew that.

Good post.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this season. I hope for a SECW title, but it will be difficult.

That is NOT what I am saying. I do not care if you agree with my reasons. I just want to see if posters like you can back up the negativity they spew. Give me some well thought out reasons why your opinion is different.

Can you quote me on one thing I have said negative, that was not in reference to the poster who posted it but about the program/team/players/or coaches.

Gonzales has nothing to do with the play calling, and Crowton's offense is not for beginners. You will see an improvement in the offense when JJ learns to trust his arm, and quit throwing it behind and below the WRs, which hopefully is a natural progression. We as a fan base constantly berated Flynn, but as he's become the back up to Aaron Rodgers, beating out Brohm, it makes more sense he could run Crowton's system.

Good Post. love what i'm hearing about the OL, let's get back to the physical nature that had us at 3000 yards rushing in 2007.
WRs taking "back to basics" class to get their fundamantals and technique on par with what we need to be elite. These guys are also oozing talent and should all have crazy stats at the end of the year.
JJ drowning himself in game film, and practicing to improve his mechanics.
S&C coach finally healthy since 07 and packing on real muscle onto these boys.
Big Cat drill emphasizing agressiveness, physicality, and attitude.
RBs that are dedicated to hit you in the mouth while juking you out your boxers.
LB corp that has an automonous tackling machine in Sheppard, and a knock you the f**k out ST hitman in Baker. (also Chavis speciality)
Defensive line with beef up the middle and about four sack happy blazers at DE.
Experienced safety Taylor and converted cornerback in Jai that could really turn heads, along with Star quality Loston waiting in the wings. Arguably the best corner in the nation Patrick "The Condor" Peterson, and a young talented MO Claiborne, that could continue the gift we receive at this position.
If Crowton and Miles can limit some of their shortcomings, we are looking real fricking good for the next two years!!

how's that?

I am still waiting on him to show me where I was negative. I thought I was just mocking him and others like him.

The OP should define negatiger. Has enough cliches in the OP to make a good country song. I am gonna assume its anyone who disagrees with him/her.

Apparently he wants facts, but I believe it is only facts he can agree with. I am not sure yet, I am negative because I am mocking him though.

Psh, did you check out DatBayouBengal's post? If I saw one more cliche, my eyes were going to bleed.

Is it same thing that has been posted multiple times already?

Could be, I only venture on here after a bad day. It makes me laugh to read some of these things.

No, but going to check it out for the hell of it. Is it a anti negatiger rant? If so, think these guys are just copying each other.

Usually datbayouboys post involve Jefferson in some capacity. Usually in praise, which is not a horrible thing just it gets exaggerated. Hell someone other day predicted 3000 yards and 31 touchdowns with 500 yards rushing and another 5 touchdowns.
