I was a 39-1 favorite on the river, and the guy hit a one outer. How is that not a bad beat?
I'm not really a hold'em guy, more of an old-timer poker player, so maybe I don't fully understand the lingo. But by the River, the poker was done. If you've left yourself to luck of the draw...then that's just too damn bad, regardless of the odds.
you should have tried to chase the guy when you raised to 9.60. He's the leader, you're in fourth, he has 3 5's. There is no reason for him to fold over a $6 bump. Looks to me like you expected him to either fold or call with that bet. He then forced the action.
Just my amateur observation, of course.

IMO, OP was doomed in any event bc theres no way either player gets away from that hand.

He's playing PLO, he can only raise the pot. Also it is a bad beat, but it has happened to me plenty of times on full tilt.

How would you have played the hand different to avoid getting stacked?
