Just got done watching this for the first time since about 2000. This movie just trips my brain out, but in a good way. What's the general opinion of this flick?
Side note, my wife thought it was stupid.

I thought it was a good suspense/thriller with a little horror mixed in. Good balance IMO and kept me interested throughout.
D'Onofrio was really good in it.

The movie itself was okay, I enjoyed the visuals.
If you liked director Tarsem Singh's vision in The Cell, you would absolutely enjoy his 2006 movie "The Fall." Looks amazing on Blu-Ray.

Gets nowhere near the credit he deserves as an actor. One of the best in the game today.

Probably because he's supposed to be such a huge dickhead IRL.

His visual style is amazing (esp. "The Fall"). But his mythic/metaphoric storylines are becoming a little tedious to me.

Steve McQueen and Brando were gigantic arse hats and people still acclaimed them.
