In 2008, QB who spent his whole career at LSU as a backup was kicked off the team and it apparently sent us reeling for two years and counting.

holy shite, talk about a spin job..

Come on now. You know that Perriloux was the starter in 2008 and that he was proven. He started and won the freaking SECCG, cmon. The situations are entirely different. This is about as detrimental to the program as Andrew Hatch leaving.

If Garrett was struggling to beat out Bailey.. then he's a wasted scholarship.

The post I responded to characterized Garrett as a 3rd or 4th string QB, which is what he was when he was on the team (just as Perrilloux was a backup when he was on the team), but for 2012, he was projected to be, at worst, 2nd string behind Z. Lee (just as Perrilloux was projected to start in 2008). Garrett's not a big loss for this year, but we are now depending on Z. Lee to A) not play MLB and B) be the first QB recruited by Miles to be a reliable starter, or we go into 2012 with a walk-on (Bailey) or a RS freshman at best (a recruit we sign this February). The hope was that Garrett would be the first QB that Miles and Crowton didn't frick up on, and that he would be ready to contribute in 2012. That hope was dashed when he got cut and it became clear that the QB frickup train is still running full steam ahead. They are completely useless at evaluating/recruiting/developing QBs. Completely useless. 0-for-5 and counting so far.
