From a personality standpoint, Shaq, without a question.

From a pure basketball standpoint, Pete, without a question.

Shaq s a good guy, but the Pistol was a basketball mechanic, his abilities will NEVER be matched in collage hoops again

Sparky Wade

He took his team farther than either of those other guys.

To answer the op's question, I gotta go with Shaq, but that's only because I was at LSU when he was. They never won any championships, but those were some fun teams to watch.

It's a good thing, since our football team absolutely sucked during my days at LSU.

Pete, for what he accomplished after his career ended. Shaq has also been a good LSU ambassador however.

Pistol.

I liked Shaq early in his career but somewhere along the line he started talking too much shite, saying off the wall stuff for attention and shock value, and generally became a horse's arse.

I don't know bout "liked better", but Pete was a better showman and the greatest individual bb player I have ever seen at LSU.

Pistol Pete without a doubt. The greatest ball handler and passer that has ever played the game. Pete could do amazing things with the basketball that no one before and no one since has been able to do. Pistol Pete was the greatest ever. Shaq, while a good player, was not in Pete's league.

As far as the comment about Pete not playing against blacks, you need to do a bit of research. Pete played against a lot of black players in both college and the pros. He would light up anyone, regardless of their skin color.

Pete changed the college and pro games forever. No other player will ever have the metamorphic impact to match his. In my opinion, as well as other expert published opinions, nobody yet has come along with the same skill set. Pete could do things with the ball that others have yet to duplicate.

I watched him in the old barn that served as LSU's basketball arena before Pete's palace was built. I've never seen anything like him.

There are a couple of great biographies that have been written about him. I highly reccomend checking them out of your local library. They are great reading, especially the more recent of the two.
