It's not a "vampire" movie and to rate it as how it does as a horror movie misses the point entirely. It's a "movie" movie.

Um...No. It is a vampire movie. Yes it is a love/manipulation story within a vampire tale, but it is still mostly a vampire tale. Mostly.

I didn't miss the point at all.

As I said, I thought the old man was the previous Oscar. I knew she was manipulating Oscar but I think she did have affection for him too. Just not enough to off herself. Good thing or Oscar would have died in the pool.

I think they were too quick with the flash of her nether regions. If they wanted us to know she mutilated herself, I think they should either have kept the camera on her/him longer or Oscar should have asked her why she/he did it.

I didn't say I hated the movie, I just didn't love it and don't plan to watch it again.

It will be interesting to see how Hollywood does the remake. I am sure they will butcher it and make it less about the relationship. Plus they will chop it up. No way they make a two hour and twenty minute horror film.

I don't remember how they refer to the vamp in the book after they reveal she is actually male. I do think the vampire cares about Oscar but she also is looking out for herself. That can be a sign of many relationships though. You care about the other person but you also look out for yourself
