In the book, after it was revealed that she was a he, did they still refer to him as a girl? Would you even consider her a girl now?
Was she a he in the book?
I know in the movie she said she was not a girl but I thought she just meant she was a vampire. She wasn't packing a penis in the movie. When she puts on Oscar's mother's dress, he catches a peak of her vag.
Glad to see I'm not the only one that didn't quite think it lived up to the Movie Site hype.

Actually, that is his castration scar!(the great people on this board let me in on this fact because, I too, thought it was a pic of her vajay).

She's a he in the movie. when she's naked, you see the scarring where his penis has been lopped off. Also, when she "changes" to drink his blood on the floor, her face is that of a man, not a woman.
It's not a "vampire" movie and to rate it as how it does as a horror movie misses the point entirely. It's a "movie" movie. One that presents itself as a love story between a troubled and lonely boy and a lonely girl who happens to be a vampire. Of course, as you start peeling the layers away, it is not a beautiful story at all, but a pretty distrubring story about how an older person uses and manipulates the insecurities of a child to put him in a position to do her bidding. It's actually pretty disturbing and, well, psychotic.
I absolutely love the movie, but the horror doesn't come from vampiric things, it comes from human relationships. If she truly loved Oskar, she would have killed herself like the infected woman did in the hospital.
