I have been hearing for a while that this is one of the best vampire films ever so I finally decided to give it a watch.

I really don't get the hype. A young vampire isn't something new.

Snaggle tooth played a young vampire in Interview.

I liked the movie but I bet more than half the movie boarders would say it was horrible.

It was fairly slow. Not Treme slow but slow.

I assume the Father was a boyfriend from when he was a kid. Oscar just took over that role.

My issues with the film.

Why was the father/old boyfriend going out and draining people?

I am not sure how he lasted as long as he did since he pretty much got caught the two times he attempted to get her blood.

I assumed it was that she was too weak to get blood on her own, but that was proven wrong by her ability to fly and the way she killed at the pool.

Why not live in a much larger population where murders occur all the time? That way she could use some of her money on nicer things.

Overall a decent vampire flick but I don't get the hype that the Movie Site Fan Wanks give this one.

I actually read the book and found it much more enjoyable. I'm one of the movie board posters who don't find the movie very good. I watched it once but I didn't get the hype either.

From the book, I don't believe the Father was a boyfriend at a younger age. He's basically a pedophile if I recall correctly. She lets him hug her and rub her (not too graphically, just sort of touching) if he drains for her. I honestly don't remember why she makes him do it, but I do think there was a reason.

Also, in the book he lasted a while because he'd usually try to get people alone. He only did a few in the book, but I believe it was mentioned he had done more before that.

As far as not living in a large city, I'm not sure why. I think they sort of move around like drifters.

Overall, I enjoyed the book but found the movie sort of boring.
