I thought we were already building the sand berms.

How is this different?

Must have got his order from the National Party.."ok, OB looks bad enough now..go ahead you can do what everyone knew you should have done 41 days ago. John Sullivan has been screaming for a month that it would only take 1% of the state's annual budget..if you delay any longer doing you might have troubles.

I don't care for this one party system and their infighting for power..especially when someone's letting his state die. Jindal had a real chance to be a hero, but he's waited too late now.

Anyone know where they are getting the huge sandbags? Are these the same ones that they used during Katrina to plug up the flood wall?

Have sand berms been rebranded as "barrier islands"?

I am kinda thinking the same thing, and I like Bobby.
Why are they flying bags of san 9 miles offshore? Seems expensive. They could get a shipload of crushed stone from Newfoundland a lot more economical, direct offload.

Perhaps but it seems Jindal is not taking any chances and may think this thing could get a whole lot worse.

Is this barrier wall really for tsunami protection?

Barrier islands aren't the same thing as sand berms.

It seems that the OP's link might be confusing the two.
