OU,UT and A&M each get around 20 mil each...and are allowed to start their own TV network (UT's is most likely to be lucrative)...

While the rest of the Big XII gets 14-15 mil...

this is a huge step up from what we were getting, across the board, and less uneven than it was...

You know, the more I think about this, we didn't get so much screwed or were anyone's bitch....however Tceh and OSU got hosed....and put in their rightful place...

I'd still prefer the SEC even if it meant less money (in the short term)

Yeah, but you still would have been better off coming to the SEC. Thanks for nothing.

You also avoided the $ penalty for leaving, the bad publicity for destroying the conference, and when the organization splinters in a few years the SEC will welcome you.

What do you want to bet that TAMU will never get as much as UT?

They would not have had any bad publicity. Maybe ESPN would say so, but everyone following this knew what was happening.

I think it boils down to A&M not wanting to be the bad guy. I actually think Texas bluffed them by saying they were staying.

I guess the thing I don't understand is this:

Everyone in the new conference gets much more money than they did before with 12 teams, more TV market share as a result of pulling in Midwest sets from Mo. and Neb., and they had a championship game. Now without those things out of thin air Commish makes promises without TV contract in hand and everyone says "Oh, OK". I don't get it. How can he make those promises? And the better question is how can schools line up for that on the word of someone who is trying to save his job and way of life?
