because the different schools mandate different entrance requirements for their members. Schools like Texas wouldn't want to compete with SEC schools with lower entrance requirements for the same players, same conference.


Interesting idea, and certainly a good spin for Texas. However, UT will bend any rule necessary to get their player. So the academic argument won't fly there.

The reality is UT will go where the dollars are best overall. If that's the PAC-10, so be it. If it's the Big-10, OK.

UT in the Big 10? Talk about incongruous.
