I wouldnt even bother. Thats the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. The WC is easily and obviously the most popular sporting event the world has ever known.

agree. I don't know that they would have liked that argument, though.
What's some other points....
2. everyone outside of this country follows soccer.
winter olympics--only those who live in snow
summer olympics--many sports, only a few have a large following
3. anticipation--WC every 4 years vs olympics every 2 (winter&summer)
