Most of the meat in the US is full of antibiotics, pesticides and hormones. Often the animals are fed cannibalistic diets.
Go to WF. Look for words like "free range", "grass fed", "ranch raised", or "organic", and buy that. Always buy wild salmon too.
Since you you have kids, I'd definitely go with the organic milk products also.
When it comes to produce, I would choose local over organic, especially foods that aren't on the dirty list. There is also a list called the "Clean 15" that gives the foods that are usually low in pesticides anyway.
They have the Farmer's Market on Thursday mornings on Perkins also. LINK
