Well, I'm glad that is out of everyone's system.

As a native of Louisiana with several friends who got better jobs in the oil industry than they could have anywhere else, yes it sucks but it comes with the territory too. Thanks to BP and all the others for the good times and good jobs.

Now get it cleaned up.

If you want to see the difference that the O&G industry makes in the quality of life in LA, compare the I-10 corridor to Alexandria and above.

Good jobs? There were more before BP bought up others and cut about 10% of the jobs by expanding probably.

There were plenty of good times in LA and plenty of oilfield jobs before BP, if they weren't here, there would be jobs thru any other company taking their place.

frick THEM! They are fricking up our entire economic system because of this shite, including about to put thousands out of work because of the seafood/iol industries now getting killed by a stop order by the feds offshore!
