“For the life of me, I can’t understand how a kid can’t field the ball cleanly when we’re playing on carpeting,” LSU coach Paul Mainieri said. “There was no bad bounce, nothing. It’s a double play and we fumble the ball.”

Your hard-on for Mainieri is starting to show. It's embarassing.

Sorry, but that's on delatte, period.

He's probably fielded hundreds of groundballs just like that

do you want PM to take the blame for a routine play screw up? Hopefully this lights a fire under delatte

sometimes, just sometimes the players actually have to execute well in order to win the game.

what was mainieri supposed to blame it on?

PM has always been the type of coach that throws his players under the bus. It has worked in the past

"Throwing a player under the bus" is a coach blaming the player to take the spotlight off of himself.

This is clearly NOT the case in this situation. Mainieri is simply pointing out routine plays that are not being made. He should do this. Players have to be accountable.

I don't know why he couldn't field the damn thing either!

why did edward only get one game at 3b? I thought he did well in his start there

His bat is clearly better than Wet's

Edward looked pretty shaky at 3B. But, then again, who hasn't?

Did Dishon do something to piss PM off? He kind of just fell off the map. I know he K's alot, but we've been K'ing alot lately. JD definitely has some pop in his bat.

Dozar was miserable at 3rd for the Vandy series.

Don't have a problem with PM calling out a player's screw ups. I don't think that's throwing them under a bus.

The way this team is just going through the motions lately, maybe they all need to be thrown under a bus and have the bus back up and repeat. . .

Personally, I think it's a little late for that. I don't see how Mainieri can give Delatte another shot. He doesn't bring anything to the table from an offensive standpoint, and defensively, he continues to make mistakes.

I think it's going to be Edward from here on out.
