Spill clean up and Benzene

To the oil field gurus:

Would the spill clean jobs be very hazardous because of the presence of the Benzene? It is my understanding this is a compound found within oil and is extremely dangerous to ones health.

Anyone got any info out there on this?

It depends on the concentrations of Benzene, as with anything else.

During cleanup, monitors are set at locations that take readings. They alarm when the levels get too high.

Just FYI...You breathe it every time you fill up your car with gas.
