I'm glad this film finally saw the light of day. It was stuck in limbo forever.

It is great story and every bit of it was true.

In case you were wondering, the dog in the movie is an Akita. I have 3 Akitas and I can tell you they are the BEST dog.

Their Loyalty is unbelieveable. They fact that Hachiko continued to wait for his master really speaks to true to the breed.

I know sometimes Akitas get a bad rap as being agressive, but that could not be further from the truth. They are SWEET loving dogs that love affection.

They were actually used to babysit the children of Japanese royalty, and Hellen Keller was the first person to bring a Akita to America.
