Looks like Ross is getting a start! He pitched well on Tuesday, I think he'll keep it up.

rubber arm?
not really. he pitched 4 innings on Tuesday and will have a 5 day rest before his Sunday start. He prob will be on an 80-90 pitch count, and usually doesn;t go deeper than 5 as it is, so this has nothing to do with not needing rest.

yeah, what about my post shows I didn't? All the link says is Ross will start on Sunday. What about my post leads you to think I didn't or what about my post is incorrect? Nothing I said was really refuteable unless you think Ross will go deeper than 5 innings, something I can't remember the last him he did it. Also, if he pitched 4 innings on Tuesday, Mainieri isn't gonna let him throw more than 100 pitches I wouldn't think, based on the fact that he has been very grounded in his stance of not overthrowing guys. it does have him listed for saturday and sunday, but the same thing applies for either except his pitch count might be lower if he pitches on saturday

He gave up 4 runs in 4 innings which equals a 9.00 ERA. Which means his overall ERA was raised to be pushing 6.00 or beyond
Yeah I'm sorry...he gave up 4 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 base on balls, and 7 strikeouts...didn't know that was a horrible outing.

it says he is pitching saturday AND sunday
it also gave his ERA which is less than the 6.0+ you suggested
additionally ross gave up 3 runs not 4

oh well i thought you were being literal and not being sarcastic, insinuating that him starting twice in a 4-5 day period was indicative of a rubber arm. i'm assuming he's listed for both days depending on if we win friday or not and based on the fact that he prob hasn't decided who will start the other game. could be matulis or bourgeios i guess depending on if one or the other needs to go long relief in either game. i doubt he starts bradshaw, but who knows. we need ranaudo to get his shite together though and not have to burn up our bullpen in game one like we have the past two weekends. also, i guess alsup could be considered, although i don't think he's ready for an SEC start just yet.

We need somebody pitching Friday that can eat up innings. It's a shame that we're at that point, but it is what it is.

I didn't say it was a HORRIBLE outing. I was just saying it wasn't a great outing like another poster suggested. Honestly, If you consider that a good outing, it just goes to show you how bad our pitching/Ross has been this year. It is only a relatively better outing for Ross. Texas, Vandy, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida etc. would consider that a terrible outing. Just saying

it is 5.63...not exactly the standard of excellence

Poo and I, or at least I, was just snickering about the article saying that he was scheduled to pitch both days...Wasn't trying to debate pitch count with you. Lighten up Francis..

I know you guys are kidding around but both days say Ross or TBA. Which based off of that, I read it as Ross is going to start either Sat or Sun (they don't know yet) and someone esle is going to start the other day.
ETA: Ott? What do people think about that? I know the question is who is going to close then but if we don't have a lead in the 9th what does it matter?
