He had 4 years and an indoor practice facility to refine his route running.

I don't see how if a kid is motivated and wants to excel, he does not have route running down before he leaves college

Of course this requires good instruction from coaches.

Maybe Billy G. Will handle this going forward.

he did what his coach required of him. our former WR coach wasn't exactly great at coaching technique

Well then, I guess 99.9% of WRs who go to the NFL lacking coaching.

That is the issue with every single WR going to the draft and is one reason they have the some of the highest bust % in the first round.

Lafell's route-running is better than most going into the draft I bet. He was good at times but you could see him getting lazy on some routes. He certainly was better than TT who was probably twice as lazy running routes.
